Natalie Legrand is a leadership expert and coach, social impact advisor, and cultural activist.
For someone who has ADHD (according to the world’s standards), I recognize power and beauty in complexity. As such, it’s made me a visionary, a non-conformist, and incessantly curious. When I was younger, my Garifuna Honduran grandmother would say, “Esa Natalie – si no se lo sabe se lo inventa.” (“That Natalie - if she doesn’t know it, she will invent it.”)
My life has proceeded through a series of nonconforming choices. My struggles in the traditional school system led me to craft and pursue entirely different ways of learning and leading. Although I exceeded expectations in the workplace, the elitist, overly generalized, universally applied, systemically biased, oppressive, outdated, and often nonsensical metrics for advancement indicated early to me that the life and career I want is truly in my own hands.
My journey has led me to explore and discover new places and spaces. I’ve formed amazing relationships and gained insights into other ways of living and knowing - and instead of trying to defend or protect my identity, I continuously nurture and expand it.
My victory is in choosing to meet each moment as an opportunity to create beautiful and meaningful experiences and gain expanded perspective, for myself and for others.
